History: In the 1940's, there were several ponds on this site that were stocked with large trout. After a couple of decades the area suffered greatly and was overgrown. Beginning in 1970, three separate plans were made to rehabilitate the ponds. Although it would be 30 years until a plan was approved. With federal funding and several donations from local groups, the park became a reality.The reservoir officially opened on September 7th 2002.
