Location: Butterfield Canyon is located in Salt Lake County, Utah. From the west side of the Salt Lake valley you can access the canyon by taking Baccus Highway to 13055 south and heading west up Butterfield Canyon Road. From Bangeter Highway you can exit at 12300 south and head west. You will continue on 12600 south which will become main street which you can follow west to the canyon entrance. If you follow the road up past the top of the canyon it will drop down into Middle Canyon in Tooele. The Canyon is closed by a gate on the Salt Lake side from November to June.
Other Info: At the top of the canyon you can drive up to a parking lot that overlooks Kennecott
Butterfield Creek flows along the canyon road. Not sure if there is any fish in it.
