Directions

Blue Lake is located in Tooele County, Utah. The lake is about 16 Miles south of Wendover. From the the Peppermill head south on US-93 for about 16.4 miles. Then turn west onto a dirt road, there will be a sign for Blue Lake just before the turn. Follow this road for 6.7 miles.

Fish Species

Because of the hot springs that are abundant in the lake several species of fish can survive. Typical game fish include largemouth bass, Bluegill, Chub and Carp. Invasive speciesĀ  such as tilapia and pacu.

Several types of aquarium cichlids that have been illegally introduced. Such as African jewelfish, red devil cichlid, Giraffe cichlid, Jack Dempsey Cichlid, and Rio grande cichlids also called the Texas cichlid.

Due to the clear water on most occasion you can target the fish by sight fishing.

Fishing Regulations

Updated for the 2024 fishing season. No limit for pacu or tilapia. Anglers must not release any pacu or tilapia they catch. All pacu and tilapia must be immediately killed. Underwater spearfishing is allowed for pacu, tilapia, carp, and Utah chub only.

The bugs get really thick in the warmer months. Bring bug spray with DEET. There are a lot of horse flies in the area with a pretty nasty bite. Also be very careful not to get bug spray on your fishing line. Fish hate the smell as well.
