Directions
Six Mile Pond is located in Sanpete County, and is part of the Manti-La Sal National Forest. From the city of Sterling head up Six Mile Canyon. The main ponds are about 12 miles up the canyon. The road is dirt and was grated in 2014 for the first time in several years. Most years the road will be impassible due to snow until May.
Six Mile Canyon is also known as Sterling Canyon. Some years road conditions will limit travel to 4 wheelers only. There will be no signs posted. You could talk to some locals before you venture with a truck. Some years they grade the road and some years they don't. I wouldn't recommend taking a trailer up this canyon. Head over to 12 Mile/Mayfield Canyon if you have a trailer.
Fish Species
Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, a less likely catch is Cutthroat Trout. Some of the ponds in the area have brown trout so that could be possible. Although I haven't caught one in several attempts fishing these ponds.
Fishing Regulations
Standard Utah fishing regulations apply.
Camping
There is a few camping spots in the area. There are picnic tables and some enclosed restrooms withing walking distance of the ponds.
