Directions
Whitney Reservoir is located in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, in Utah. From the Mirror Lake Highway take the Whitney Road exit and head 7 miles west to the Reservoir. The exit to Whitney Road is just southwest of the Christmas Meadows Area. The dirt road is in pretty good shape. Last time we were there cars, and minivans had no issue with the road. The reservoir lies withing the Bear River Drainage of the Uintas.

Pictured below are my nephews with some tiger trout they caught from the shore.

There are several ponds nearby Whitney reservoir. Most people would think that these ponds do not hold fish. Some are beaver ponds that are a few feet deep. Some of the ponds look like little puddles with a creek going into them. Almost all of the ponds and creeks surrounding the area have fish in them. Here is a rainbow my brother pulled out of one of these small ponds that was about a mile west of the reservoir.
