When adding new pages to junesucker.com I spend an incredible amount of time researching each location. The state of Utah mandated that all state publications be hosted online for permanent public access. The Utah Government Digital Library hosted all of these documents. It was a wonderful place where you could look up studies from fish biologists, stocking information, maps, and any fish documents related to Utah going back over 100 years.
In 2025, Scott D. Sandall (R-Logan) and Rep. Christine F. Watkins (R-Price) gave a big giant middle finger to the curious outdoor lovers of Utah and gutted the funding for the library. The Library shut down in September, 2025. The fish surveys I used to gather information on the Uintas went up in smoke. Luckily I saved a few documents. I’ve posted these below. Although the loss of 10,000 + documents of Utah history is a major blow to all information seekers.
LAKES OF THE HIGH UINTAS PDF’S
List of Fishable Lakes in the Uintas.
1963, and 1964 Lakes of the High Uintas
Disclaimer. The ones that are good quality were done by the state of Utah. I’m in the process of scanning in several of these pamphlets. I have a 14 year old scanner that is only compatible with a old version of windows. It takes 2 minutes per page and comes out not looking great. Doing the best I can with what I have. The info is still there though even if some are a bit blurry.
