If you’re looking for Utah ice reports this is the place. We scour the web, cold call pro shops, marinas, ranger stations, and do a ton of driving. If you have updated info please post it to the forum and we will update this page. Please use proper safety precautions and note that lake that averages over 4″ we consider safe. We will be updating this page several times per week so check back often.
North – Updated 11/23/16 We haven’t found any safe ice in this area yet. Remeber to check fishingbearlake.com for Bear Lake reports.
Uintas and Northeastern – 11/23/16 Almost all the lakes in the Uintas over 10k feet are now capped. Lower Uintas lakes should be good after this weekend. Other Lakes in the Northeastern area will be a couple of weeks.
Central – Updated 11/23/16 No ice yet. Soldier Creek is usually the first part of Strawberry to freeze which typically occurs around the first week of December. This year has been unusually warm so we excect it to be a week late.
South Eastern – Updated 11/23/16 Fairview canyon area has capped traditionally every thanksgiving weekend for a long while now. If you going to try to fish this weekend be extra careful. There was 4″ on huntington at this point last year. There was a post on BFT with pics of the area.
Southern Updated 11/23/16 Fish lake typically caps the last week in December. Check out the Fish Lake resort facebook page for more updates. Boulder Lakes should be capping soon.
Flaming Gorge – 11/23/16 Firehole is usally fishable the first week of December. We still expect this to be the case even with warmer temps this year.
