• The goal of June Sucker is to build a single Utah fishing reference. In order to pull this off I’ve done an incredible amount of research, and driven an insane amount of miles. Trying to visit every fishing spot […]

  • Have you ever wondered what the largest lakes in Utah are? So did I but there wasn’t a good source online. In fact the only web page I could find was horribly inaccurate and missing several lakes. So I decided to […]

  • We fished Strawberry Reservoir near the Strawberry Bay Marina. The ice was anywhere from 2 – 4 inches, with it being thicker by shore and pretty scary thin the further we went out. We caught 4 cutthroat total all in the slot. Two of them on tube jigs and the other two on ice flies.

  • We fished Flaming Gorge in the Lost Dog area in about 30 feet of water. We got there just a little before sundown and fished for about 4 hours. All together we caught five fish, two pup macs, two burbot, and a rainbow trout. We got a few other bites as well, all off the bottom. We did a drive by of buckboard and it still had open water.

    Pup…[Read more]

  • Fished Scofield Reservoir in the dam arm, in about 25 feet of water. The ice was almost a foot thick. Fishing was slow and the bite was really soft. Most of the fish we caught were on the jaw jacker. We were hoping to get a bunch of chub to use for bait. Between two people we only caught about ten chubs. We also caught 4 rainbows and 4 cutthroat…[Read more]

  • It’s that time of season where new lakes are capping with ice daily. I keep reading so many reports online with people asking about ice fishing updates and ice thickness. Since I’m too lazy to update this as […]

  • I have to apologize I’m working 7 days a week and 15 hour days, so I haven’t updates as much as I would like. Should have several more updates in the next couple of days. Look for this weekend to be awesome for […]

  • If you’re looking for Utah ice reports this is the place. We scour the web, cold call pro shops, marinas, ranger stations, and do a ton of driving. If you have updated info please post it to the forum […]

  • I separated this into a second post even though we did this the same day as the Chepta Lake Trip. From Chepeta Lake to Pole Creek Lake its only 11 miles on a dirt road. Although it takes about 40 minutes to get there. We parked at the Pole Creek Lake Campground. In October the camp host has gone home for the winter so its free to use. The hike is…[Read more]

  • We went up elk hunting on the South Slope and were lucky enough to bag a bull before they all headed to the reservation. As soon as first light hits on the opening day Several herds run the 3 miles to the tribal land and hop the fence. They know from experience that they are safe once over the fence. This is my brother with his 4×4 bull. Kind of…[Read more]

  • We went up to the Uintas for the muzzleloader deer hunt near Whitney Reservoir. The first morning there was a few smaller bucks, but after the shooting started none of the bucks stuck around. So  we decided to do some fishing around the area. The first place we fish was Beaver Lake.

We fished here for about 30 minutes and only reeled in moss.…[Read more]

  • I went to the Strawberry Reservoir Kokanee Festival today. Its a really amazing experience. You get to see the salmon spawn up the river in the hundreds. The festival was at the Strawberry Reservoir visitor center just off the Strawberry Marina exit near highway 40. You park near the road where the river crosses and within a 1 minute walk you can…[Read more]

  • Went to Deep Lake in the Manti-La Sal National Forrest over the weekend. On the way up I saw a few wild turkeys hanging out in 12 mile canyon. I had never been to Deep Lake so I looked at the map and Forrest Road 1243 past WPA Ponds looked like a shorter route. This was a huge mistake. This road would have been fine on a 4 wheeler but is not even…[Read more]

  • I fished Salem Pond from 7pm until about 9pm. The DWR had just planted a bunch of catfish and they were hungry. Caught a bunch of catfish that were all 3 plus pounds. Most of the Catfish were on a bubble and a worm however I did catch one on a Jakes Spin a Lure. The bite was slow until about 830 then it got really hot. I also caught one Wiper on a…[Read more]

  • We ice fished Huntingtong Reservoir on 11/28/15. We had a lot of bites but they were very soft. I would recommend using a strike indicator or holding your pole the whole time if your going to fish here. All fish caught were Tiger Trout. All of the lakes around Fairview Canyon are frozen.

  • We hit up Currant Creek Reservoir in the morning. We fished from shore and all the rocks on the dam were icy and slippery. Could see a lot of aggressive rainbows cruising the shore line. Most of our success was from power bait and minnows. The biggest rainbow trout was probably only 16″ in length.

  • Drove by Nine Mile Reservoir (by Gunnison) on Saturday. The Reservoir is pretty much empty besides a small stream in the middle. Looks like we can’t upload images currently I will post the pic on the https://facebook.com/fishingforum.
